In honor of the 40th anniversary of the iconic Nintendo Entertainment System’s launch in North America, 8BitDo has unveiled its latest NES40 collection, as reported by The Verge. This lineup pays homage to the classic NES with revamped versions of three popular 8BitDo products.
The standout item is the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller – N40 edition. While retaining the original’s functionality, such as TMR joysticks and Hall effect triggers, the N40 version sports a sleek black-and-gray design with vibrant red buttons, echoing the NES color scheme. Notable enhancements include four interchangeable joystick caps and grips imprinted with significant launch dates of Nintendo and 8BitDo products.
Additionally, the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard N40 features a more compact 68-key layout, constructed entirely from aluminum alloy and equipped with upgraded Box Ice Cream Pro Max switches for a premium typing experience.
The NES40 collection is now available for pre-order, with the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller – N40 priced at $79.99. This limited edition controller comes bundled with the Retro Receiver for wireless connectivity to the original NES and a 2.4GHz adapter for faster gaming connections.
