Google is simplifying the integration of AI agents with its services by introducing managed MCP servers, starting with Maps and BigQuery. This initiative aims to streamline the process of connecting AI agents to real tools, eliminating the need for complex integrations.

With the launch of managed MCP servers, Google is making its services ‘agent-ready by design,’ providing a seamless way for AI agents to leverage Google and Cloud services like Maps and BigQuery.
This development aligns with Google’s recent release of the Gemini 3 model, which emphasizes enhanced reasoning capabilities and improved connections to practical tools and data. According to Steren Giannini, Google Cloud’s product management director, developers can now integrate AI agents with Google services through a simple URL configuration, saving time and effort.
Initially, Google will offer MCP servers for Maps, BigQuery, Compute Engine, and Kubernetes Engine, enabling scenarios such as direct querying of BigQuery by an analytics assistant or interaction with infrastructure services by an ops agent.
By leveraging the Google Maps MCP server, AI agents can access up-to-date location information, enhancing their capabilities in tasks like trip planning. This move demonstrates Google’s commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of AI integration with its services, benefiting developers and users alike.
