Google is expanding its Gemini AI features to the iOS version of Chrome, following their initial launch on desktop in September, as reported by 9to5Google and Engadget. Users on iPhone and iPad will now see a new icon in the address bar, shaped like a notebook page with the Gemini star symbol, enabling them to ask questions about on-screen content or have webpages summarized.
Although the capabilities of this integration are currently more limited compared to the full Gemini experience, the feature provides a convenient way to get quick answers without leaving the current webpage.
To access this functionality, users need to be signed in on Chrome for iOS, as the Gemini integration does not work in Incognito mode and is currently only available in English. For those not seeing the new icon yet, updating the Chrome app from the App Store may resolve the issue, as Google is gradually rolling out this feature to users over time.
