Adobe has introduced an AI assistant for Photoshop and enhanced its image editing capabilities with AI in Firefly. The AI assistant, announced during Adobe’s MAX event, is now available in beta on the web and in mobile apps. This feature enables users to perform tasks like object or people removal, color adjustments, and lighting changes through simple prompts. Users can also utilize natural language commands to instruct the AI assistant for tasks such as adding a soft glow, specific cropping, shadow enhancements, or background transformations.
Additionally, Adobe is rolling out a new AI markup feature in public beta, allowing users to draw markers on the screen and use the AI assistant to modify objects accordingly. New AI-powered image editing tools are being integrated into Firefly, including Generative Fill for object replacement or addition, generative remove for object removal, generative expand for image size enhancement, and generative upscale features. A one-click tool to remove image backgrounds is also being introduced.
Adobe is incentivizing increased usage by offering unlimited generations for Firefly subscribers. The company has also incorporated more than 25 third-party video and image generation models into Firefly, enhancing its functionality and versatility.
