Anthropic, a prominent player in the AI industry, has unveiled plans to allocate $50 billion towards enhancing computing infrastructure within the United States. The company’s collaboration with the AI cloud platform Fluidstack will result in the construction of state-of-the-art data centers in Texas and New York, with additional locations planned for the future.
The deployment of these data centers is scheduled to commence in 2026, generating an estimated 800 employment opportunities. Anthropic’s investment aligns with the objectives outlined in the Trump administration’s AI Action Plan, aimed at maintaining American AI supremacy and strengthening local technological foundations.
This financial commitment mirrors similar initiatives within the AI sector. OpenAI and SoftBank previously disclosed the ‘Stargate Project,’ a $500 billion endeavor to establish multiple AI-focused data centers across the US, starting in Texas. Meta has also pledged $600 billion towards bolstering American infrastructure and data center capacities.
According to Anthropic, the scale of this investment is necessary to address the growing demand for its AI chatbot Claude, while ensuring that its research remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
