Apple has unveiled the latest iteration of its over-ear headphones, the AirPods Max 2, featuring improved noise cancellation and sound quality. Priced at $549, the AirPods Max 2 is powered by an H2 chip, introducing new functionalities such as AI-driven live translation, enabling real-time speech translation into the user’s chosen language.
The AirPods Max 2 boasts 1.5 times more effective active noise cancellation compared to its predecessor, along with features like conversation awareness, voice isolation for clear phone calls, and automatic reduction of loud ambient sounds. These headphones support 24-bit, 48kHz lossless audio when connected via USB-C, as well as offering up to 20 hours of listening time on a single charge.
Enhancements to the Transparency mode provide a more natural sound experience, while additional features include a camera remote function, personalized volume adjustments based on user preferences, and the ability to respond to Siri via head gestures. The AirPods Max 2 is available in blue, black, purple, beige, and orange, with preorders starting in March.
