Birdfy, a tech company known for its innovative bird feeders, has introduced two new camera-equipped smart bird feeders ahead of CES 2026. The Birdfy Hum Bloom and Feeder Vista are designed to attract and capture hummingbirds in slow motion, offering a unique perspective on these fast-moving creatures.
The Hum Bloom, tailored for hummingbirds, features an 8MP camera capable of recording 4K video at 20fps. While capturing slow-motion footage at 120fps requires a resolution drop to 1080P, the feeder’s design ensures that hovering hummingbirds are perfectly framed in front of the camera. Utilizing a nectar bulb that mimics flowers hummingbirds are naturally attracted to, the Hum Bloom includes sensors to monitor nectar levels and send alerts for refills via the Birdy mobile app. Additionally, an ‘ant moat’ helps deter insects from swarming the feeder.
On the other hand, the Feeder Vista boasts a 360-degree camera setup capable of capturing 14MP panoramic stills or 6K 360-degree videos at 30fps. Lowering the resolution to 2K enables slow-motion video recording at up to 120fps, providing a unique viewing experience for bird enthusiasts.
Both smart bird feeders are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2026, offering tech-savvy bird watchers new ways to interact with and observe hummingbirds in their natural habitat.
