Bosch, a leading provider of electric bike technology, is introducing a new digital feature to help combat e-bike theft. Owners can now mark their stolen e-bikes in the Bosch Flow app without needing a subscription, starting at the end of January. This follows a similar feature introduced last year for Bosch batteries, eliminating the need for a Flow Plus subscription.
The company stated that once an e-bike or battery is marked as stolen, it will be flagged across Bosch’s digital ecosystem, making resale difficult and increasing the chances of recovery for the owner. Buyers, service centers, and authorities will receive warnings when trying to connect to a stolen bike via the Flow app, ensuring that stolen e-bikes are easily identifiable and unusable.
This approach by Bosch aims to deter theft and protect e-bike owners, leveraging digital technology to combat a real-world issue. By integrating digital security measures, Bosch is enhancing the safety and security of electric bike users, providing a new standard in theft prevention for e-bike manufacturers.
