ModRetro, a company known for its innovative gaming hardware, has unveiled the M64 console, a nostalgic recreation of the beloved Nintendo 64 system. This new console aims to deliver N64 games in stunning 4K resolution through the use of an FPGA, similar to the Analogue 3D system.
The M64 console features a design reminiscent of the original N64, with a curved top panel, cartridge slot, and ports for original wired gamepads. The front panel includes a power button and a dial labeled ‘Menu,’ hinting at potential additional features. On the back, users will find an HDMI port, USB-C ports, and a microSD card slot for expanded storage.
Offered in green, purple, and white translucent colors, the M64 comes with three color-matched controllers that faithfully replicate the classic N64 design, including the unique three-prong layout and centrally positioned thumbstick. While the Analogue 3D offers a modernized controller, ModRetro has opted for authenticity, staying true to the original N64 experience.
