Crunchyroll, the popular streaming service for anime enthusiasts, has announced adjustments to its subscription pricing in the US and select international markets. The price changes will affect all tiers of Crunchyroll subscriptions, marking the first increase to the lowest-priced tier since 2019.
According to Crunchyroll, the Fan Tier will see a raise from $7.99 per month to $9.99 per month. The Mega Fan Tier will increase from $11.99 per month to $13.99 per month, while the Ultimate Fan Tier will now cost $17.99 per month, up from $15.99.
Subscribers with existing monthly plans will experience the updated pricing on their next billing cycle after March 4th. Despite the cost adjustments, Crunchyroll is enhancing the Fan Tier by introducing the ability to download content for offline viewing on one device, a feature previously exclusive to the Mega Fan Tier.
Crunchyroll’s pricing modifications align with a broader trend of price increases across various streaming platforms like HBO Max, Paramount Plus, and Disney Plus. These adjustments follow previous hikes in 2024 for the higher-tier subscriptions on Crunchyroll.
