Formula E has unveiled its latest electric racing car, the Gen4, featuring significant technological advancements. According to Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds, the Gen4 car is longer, wider, and more powerful than its predecessors. The vehicle boasts wings and bodywork that contribute to substantial aerodynamic downforce, along with new Bridgestone tires for improved performance.
The Gen4 car will be equipped with regen braking capabilities of up to 700 kW, offering enhanced control and energy efficiency on the track. Notably, the car is designed to be fully recyclable, aligning with Formula E’s commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious practices.
With a power output of 603 hp in race mode, the Gen4 car represents a significant advancement in Formula E’s performance capabilities, marking a 50% increase compared to the previous Gen3 Evo model. In attack mode, the car can unleash up to 804 hp (600 kW), delivering impressive acceleration and speed.
One of the standout features of the Gen4 car is its permanent all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, a first for any single-seater in FIA competition in recent decades.
