Gemini for TV, a voice assistant technology, is now available on Google TV Streamer devices, expanding its reach to a wider audience. Previously limited to certain smart TVs since its September launch, this expansion allows more users to experience its features. To use Gemini for TV, all that’s required is a TV with an HDMI port, HDCP 1.3 or later, and an internet connection.
Gemini for TV offers familiar voice assistant functions, such as movie recommendations based on preferences, show summaries, and smart home task management, with enhanced conversational capabilities compared to Google Assistant.
The rollout of Gemini for TV to Google TV Streamer devices will occur gradually over the next few weeks. Users can check for the update by navigating to the settings on their Google TV Streamer, selecting their account, and accessing the Voice Assistant section. If eligible, an option to enable Gemini for TV will be available.
