Google is expanding access to its AI-powered workspace feature, Canvas, to all users in the US through AI Mode in Search. This functionality creates a dedicated workspace within Google’s search tool, leveraging real-time Search data to assist in organizing plans, developing tools, and drafting documents alongside chat conversations.
The Canvas feature was initially introduced within the Gemini app for real-time document creation and coding. After successful testing in AI Mode for visualizing travel plans, Google has now extended the functionality to support creative writing and coding tasks. Users can benefit from an AI-generated dashboard presenting information related to their prompts or interactive prototypes of tools under development.
To utilize Canvas in AI Mode, users can access it through Search, click the ‘plus’ button in the chat window, and select Canvas. By describing the intended creation, users can view the results in a panel on the right side of the screen. This feature is currently only available in English.
