Google has announced the release of Lyria 3 Pro, an enhanced music generation model that allows users to create longer and more customizable tracks, marking a significant advancement in AI-powered music tools. This upgraded model, following the recent launch of Lyria 3, enables users to compose tracks up to three minutes long, a substantial improvement from the previous 30-second limit. In addition to extended track length, Lyria 3 Pro provides users with enhanced creative control and customization options.
The model’s capabilities include the ability to specify various elements of a musical piece such as intros, verses, choruses, and bridges, showcasing a deeper understanding of track structure compared to its predecessor. Google has integrated Lyria 3 Pro into its Gemini app for paid subscribers, as well as into the Google Vids video editing app and ProducerAI, an AI-powered music production tool recently acquired by the company.
Furthermore, Google has extended the Lyria 3 Pro model’s music generation features to enterprise tools like Vertex AI, the Gemini API, and AI Studio. The tech giant emphasized that the model was trained using data from partners and permissible data from YouTube and Google, clarifying that it does not mimic specific artists. However, users can provide artist prompts for the model to draw ‘broad inspiration’ from, resulting in unique tracks.
