Huawei has recently unveiled its latest Mate 80 series in China, with the flagship 80 Pro Max model featuring a standout dual-layer OLED display. The device boasts an exceptional peak brightness of 8,000 nits, surpassing competitors like the Realme GT 8 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro.
While peak brightness figures may not directly translate to real-world usage scenarios, Huawei’s claim indicates superior visibility, especially in bright environments. The company also highlights the display’s contrast quality, promising an immersive viewing experience.
Aside from the display prowess, all Mate 80 models feature flat screens and squared-off sides, aligning with the industry trend of moving away from curved designs. The devices exhibit unique aesthetics, such as a circular design element on the rear to signify the wireless charging area, lending a distinct look to the series.
Powered by Huawei’s Kirin chips, the Mate 80 lineup offers varying specifications, including up to 20GB of RAM in the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design model, which combines high-end performance with an exclusive design for tech enthusiasts.
