LinkedIn users can now showcase their AI skills through official certifications thanks to a new partnership with prominent AI apps, as reported by TechCrunch. The collaboration involves Descript, Lovable, Replit, and Relay.app, which will assess user skills using AI algorithms and issue certificates based on usage patterns and proficiency within the tools.
Microsoft-owned LinkedIn aims to provide users with a way to demonstrate their AI expertise to potential employers. The platform plans to expand its partner network, inviting companies like Gamma, GitHub, and Zapier to join the verified skills program in the near future.
According to Hari Sirinivasan, VP of Product at LinkedIn, the demand for AI proficiency in job roles has significantly increased, with over 100 million professionals already verifying their identities on the platform. The addition of verified skills offers users another method to showcase their capabilities in the evolving tech landscape.
The shift towards AI skills is evident in the job market, with a growing number of postings requiring AI expertise. Reports from eDX and Indeed’s Hiring Lab indicate a surge in job postings mentioning AI-related keywords, reflecting the tech industry’s emphasis on AI capabilities.
