Microsoft has introduced a new capability within Copilot that allows users to seamlessly make purchases while conversing with the AI chatbot. This feature enables individuals to receive product recommendations and complete transactions directly within the chat interface, without being redirected to an external website.
For example, if a user seeks advice on purchasing an item like sneakers or a lamp, Copilot can now present a ‘Buy’ option within the chat. By clicking on the ‘Buy’ button, users can enter their shipping and payment details to finalize the purchase.
The initial rollout of in-chat checkouts is limited to Copilot.com in the US and supports transactions with select retailers, including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Ashley Furniture, and certain Etsy sellers. Microsoft has partnered with payment providers like PayPal, Stripe, and Shopify to facilitate these seamless transactions.
