OpenAI has decided to further delay the launch of its ‘adult mode’ feature for ChatGPT, the company’s popular conversational AI. The feature, originally announced in October, was intended to provide verified adult users with access to erotica and other adult content.
According to an OpenAI spokesperson, the company has shifted its focus towards enhancing the chatbot’s intelligence, personality, and proactiveness, which are deemed more critical for a larger user base at present. While maintaining the commitment to treating adults with appropriate content, OpenAI acknowledges the necessity of refining the user experience before the launch of the adult mode.
The initial rollout timeline set for December was previously postponed to the first quarter of this year. The exact duration of this latest postponement remains unspecified.
