Norway-based browser company Opera has officially launched its AI-powered browser, Neon, to the public after a period of testing. However, users will need to subscribe to a $19.90 monthly plan to access the advanced features. Neon, similar to other AI-focused browsers like Perplexity’s Comet and OpenAI’s Atlas, integrates an AI chatbot into its interface. This chatbot can assist users with tasks, create mini apps and videos, and provide contextual information based on the user’s browsing history. Additionally, Neon offers a feature called Tasks, which organizes tabs and AI chats into workspaces for better productivity.
Subscribers to Neon’s premium plan will gain access to advanced AI models such as Gemini 3 Pro, GPT-5.1, Veo 3.1, and Nano Banana Pro. Furthermore, subscribers will be able to join Opera’s Discord community and communicate directly with developers. Opera stated that Neon is tailored for tech enthusiasts who enjoy early access to cutting-edge AI technology, with frequent updates and community feedback shaping its development.
Opera also mentioned that its other products like Opera One, Opera GX, and Opera Air offer free AI features, including a chat-based assistant, to cater to a wider audience.
