Samsung has announced plans to integrate Google Photos into its TVs by 2026, offering users a seamless way to view their favorite memories on a larger screen. Previously, Google Photos users had to cast their content or sideload the app to access it on Android TVs. With this integration, Samsung aims to enhance the viewing experience by bringing curated photos and videos through the Memories feature exclusively to its TVs for the first six months.
Users will be required to sign in to their Google accounts to access their photos and videos on Samsung TVs. Additionally, Samsung plans to incorporate AI-powered features such as templates, image editing, and the Remix feature, enabling users to transform their photos into different styles.
Shimrit Ben-Yair, Google Photos and Google One Vice President, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing how Google Photos serves as a platform for organizing and reliving memories. This integration will enable users to enjoy a more immersive viewing experience and rediscover their cherished moments.
