Thinking Machines Lab, founded by Mira Murati, has secured a multi-year deal with semiconductor company Nvidia. The partnership involves deploying at least a gigawatt of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems, starting in 2027, as part of a strategic collaboration. Nvidia has also made a strategic investment in Thinking Machines Lab, which has raised over $2 billion in funding since its establishment in February 2025.
The partnership aims to develop training and serving systems for Nvidia architecture, enhancing the capacity to build AI models that deliver reproducible results. Thinking Machines Lab, valued at more than $12 billion, recently launched its first product, Tinker, an API designed to advance AI capabilities.
This collaboration showcases the increasing demand for compute power in the AI sector, with Nvidia being a foundational technology provider in the field.
