WhatsApp has announced the rollout of new features aimed at enhancing group chat experiences. The updates include member tags, text stickers, and event reminders.
Member tags allow users to provide more context about themselves in group chats by choosing a name that reflects their role or identity, such as ‘Anna’s Dad’ or ‘Goalkeeper.’ Text stickers enable users to convert any word into a sticker using Sticker Search, which can then be added to sticker packs without sending them in a chat. Additionally, event reminders offer the ability to set custom reminders for invitees when creating and sending group chat events.
These enhancements align with WhatsApp’s strategy to strengthen group chat capabilities, which already include features like sharing large files up to 2GB, sending HD media, screen sharing, and voice chats. The introduction of member tags and text stickers adds a layer of personalization and creativity to group interactions, making it easier for users to express themselves and engage with others effectively.
