The revelation that various ‘MAGA’ accounts are allegedly situated in countries like Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Thailand has triggered skepticism, especially considering discrepancies in follower counts and geographic origins.
X’s director of product, Nikita Bier, emphasized the feature’s importance in safeguarding the integrity of online discourse globally, despite reports of inaccuracies in location data for older accounts.
