Paramount Plus has announced plans to increase subscription prices for US users starting January 15th, 2026. The ad-supported Essential plan will rise from $7.99 to $8.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium plan will see an increase from $12.99 to $13.99 per month. This move is part of Paramount’s strategy to enhance the user experience and expand its programming offerings.
Similar to other streaming services, Paramount Plus has been adjusting its pricing structure over time. Previously, the platform raised prices in 2023 and again in June of this year. The recent price hike in Canada and Australia further demonstrates Paramount’s efforts to align pricing globally.
Following Skydance’s acquisition, Paramount Plus experienced significant subscriber growth, adding 1.4 million new subscribers, totaling 79.1 million. The platform also secured a $7.7 billion deal to stream live UFC fights, expanding its content offerings.
Alongside the price adjustments, Paramount Plus announced the discontinuation of free trials and a review of discount strategies. The company plans to upgrade its technology stack to improve performance for both Paramount Plus and Pluto TV, its ad-supported streaming service. Additionally, Paramount is exploring the integration of AI to enhance personalization and recommendation features.
