Samsung is introducing a new AI-powered feature for its 2025 TV lineup, allowing users to interact with their devices in a more natural and conversational way. The company’s enhanced virtual assistant, called the Vision AI Companion, is based on generative AI models like Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
The Vision AI Companion enables users to engage in natural conversations, asking about on-screen content, receiving TV and movie recommendations, getting cooking tips, discovering local restaurants, and even seeking travel advice. This feature can handle follow-up questions and maintain context, providing a more seamless and interactive TV viewing experience.
Initially announced at the IFA trade show, the AI update is now available across Samsung’s 2025 TV lineup, supporting 10 languages including English, Korean, and Spanish. By integrating this technology into TVs, Samsung aims to provide a direct channel to consumers, as the company does not market smart speakers.
The Vision AI Companion will serve as the central hub for other AI features, such as picture optimization and real-time translation, further enhancing the overall viewing experience.
