Electric trucks face challenges with towing, but California-based Evotrex offers a solution with its latest creation, the Evotrex-PG5 RV. This RV features a ‘unified energy system’ comprising a 43kWh lithium-phosphate battery, 1.5kW of solar panels, and a highly efficient gas-powered onboard generator named Horizon. The combination of these energy sources enables the RV to provide over 270kWh of usable energy on a single cycle, allowing off-grid enthusiasts to extend their journeys.
The Evotrex-PG5 supports various charging methods, including solar, regenerative charging while towing, and the Horizon generator. It also has vehicle-to-load (V2L) power export capability, enabling users to power tools, cooking appliances, or camping equipment directly from the RV’s power system. Additionally, the RV can recharge electric trucks with AC charging speeds of 6.6kW or DC charging speeds of 60kW, following the Tesla-NACS charging standard. In case of a blackout, the PG5 can even power homes.
To assist users in managing power consumption, Evotrex provides the Power Calculator tool, which helps optimize power usage based on environmental conditions.
