Lenovo has revealed its latest innovation in laptop design at CES 2026 with the introduction of the ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept. This concept laptop features a flexible OLED display that wraps around the outer part of its lid, allowing users to vertically expand the screen from a standard 13.3-inch display to a taller 15.9-inch screen for enhanced productivity.
Unlike previous rollable devices, the screen and motors of the ThinkPad XD are integrated into the lid, providing a unique exterior-facing workspace. The lid can display touch-friendly widgets when closed, and a simple knock extends the display slightly, making it easier to open. The use of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the outward-facing touchscreen ensures durability, while the see-through portion of the lid showcases the mechanics of the rollable screen.
Lenovo’s exploration of transforming screens, starting with the ThinkBook series, demonstrates the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of laptop design and functionality. The ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept offers a glimpse into the future of portable computing, where flexibility and innovation converge to redefine user experiences.
