Microsoft has unveiled new gameplay footage of the highly anticipated Fable reboot during its Developer Direct event. The game is scheduled to release this autumn across multiple platforms, including Xbox, PC, and PS5.
The upcoming Fable title offers players an open-world action RPG experience where they can customize their character, develop combat skills, and engage in various activities such as constructing houses and forming relationships with in-game characters. The game introduces a dynamic reputation system, where NPCs react based on player actions, leading to personalized interactions and consequences within the game world.
Director Ralph Fulton highlighted a revamped morality system that focuses on witnessed actions in the game, offering a more nuanced approach compared to previous installments. The game’s tone appears to blend humor with engaging gameplay elements, including peculiar activities like kicking chickens.
The journey to the release of this new Fable title has been a lengthy one, with the series originating in 2004. Initially announced during Microsoft’s 2020 Xbox Games Showcase, the game faced delays but is now on track for its much-anticipated launch this year.
