Anthropic’s Claude AI has recently received an update that integrates MCP, allowing users to interact with apps like Slack, Figma, and Canva directly within the Claude chatbot. This enhancement enables users to perform tasks such as drafting Slack messages and creating presentations in Canva seamlessly without switching between multiple tabs.
Previously, users could connect tools like Slack and Asana to Claude but were limited to receiving text responses. With the new in-app integration, users can now visually engage with the tools, offering a more interactive experience.
Anthropic has made various popular tools available for direct use within Claude, including customizing Canva decks in real-time, formatting and previewing Slack messages, building interactive charts with Hex or Amplitude, and project management with Asana or monday.com. Additionally, integrations for Figma, Clay, and Box are already in place, with Salesforce tools like Data 360, Agentforce, and Customer 360 apps on the horizon.
This in-app interactivity resembles mini-applications within messaging platforms like Telegram and Discord, signaling a potential shift in the role of AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude towards a more comprehensive operating system model, akin to Tencent’s WeChat in China.
