Northwood Space, a startup based in El Segundo, California, has announced the closure of a $100 million Series B funding round, with Washington Harbour Partners and Andreessen Horowitz as the lead investors. This marks the company’s second successful fundraising in less than a year.
Additionally, Northwood Space has secured a $49.8 million contract with the United States Space Force to enhance the satellite control network, which is crucial for managing various government space missions, such as GPS satellite tracking and control.
Founder and CEO Bridgit Mendler emphasized the company’s preparedness to meet the growing demand for its services, noting the importance of responsible expansion given the current interest in space, hard tech, and defense tech funding.
