Anthropic’s recent Super Bowl ads featuring AI chatbot interactions have significantly increased the popularity of their app, Claude. Following the ads, Claude climbed from No. 41 to No. 7 on the U.S. App Store, with a notable surge in downloads. The app’s unique selling point of ‘no ads’ seems to have resonated well with users, leading to this spike in downloads.
Market data from Appfigures shows that Claude’s U.S. downloads on both iOS and Android platforms spiked to an estimated 148,000 from Sunday through Tuesday, marking a 32% increase compared to the previous three days. The daily average downloads during this period also rose significantly, indicating growing interest in the app.
The success of Anthropic’s Super Bowl commercials, coupled with the launch of their Opus 4.6 model, played a crucial role in drawing attention to Claude’s app and highlighting its differentiation from competitors like ChatGPT. As a result, Claude is now garnering more attention and downloads than during its initial launch.
Despite facing tough competition initially, Claude’s recent performance showcases its ability to capture a larger market share and attract users globally. The strategic combination of advertising efforts and product enhancements has proven successful in driving app adoption and increasing user engagement.
