Samsung has announced the integration of AirDrop support into its Quick Share feature for Galaxy devices, launching initially with the S26 series. This new capability will first become available in Korea, with a subsequent rollout to US devices later this week. The company plans to extend this functionality to more regions and additional Galaxy models in the near future.
This development enables owners of Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra smartphones to seamlessly transfer files to Apple devices through a swift wireless connection. Samsung now joins Google as the second Android smartphone manufacturer to offer native AirDrop support, following Google’s independent creation of an Android interoperability solution for AirDrop in the past year. The Pixel 10 series received this feature in November 2025, followed by the Pixel 9 series in February.
Users who wish to utilize AirDrop on Galaxy devices can activate the feature by navigating to the Settings menu, selecting Connected devices > Quick Share > Share with Apple devices. After enabling the toggle, users will receive instructions indicating that both the Apple and Samsung devices must have their sharing settings configured to ‘Everyone’ mode in order to exchange files.
With this update, Samsung aims to enhance the file-sharing experience for its users by facilitating seamless cross-platform interactions between Galaxy and Apple devices.
