Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI has undergone significant changes as its last two co-founders, Manuel Kroiss and Ross Nordeen, have reportedly left the company, according to TechCrunch. This departure follows the exit of the other co-founders earlier this month, leaving Musk with a revamped team.
Recently, Musk acknowledged that xAI needed to be rebuilt entirely due to initial shortcomings. The AI startup, now under Musk’s SpaceX after an acquisition, is undergoing a transformation alongside X (formerly Twitter) within the SpaceX corporate structure.
Kroiss, who led xAI’s pretraining team, and Nordeen, described as Musk’s close collaborator, played key roles within the organization. Nordeen, previously from Tesla, was involved in strategic decisions, including restructuring efforts at Twitter post-acquisition.
With xAI’s reformation underway and SpaceX rumored to be preparing for a public offering, the tech industry is closely observing how Musk’s reshaped team will navigate the AI landscape.
