In a recent interview with CNBC, Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the company’s strategy to integrate more third-party AI tools into their operating systems. Cook emphasized Apple’s intention to expand collaborations with various AI providers over time.
Notably, Apple has already incorporated ChatGPT into Siri and is reportedly working on integrating Google Gemini. Speculation is also circulating about potential partnerships with Anthropic and Perplexity.
Last year, Apple’s software SVP, Craig Federighi, hinted at future integrations with models like Google Gemini, setting the stage for Apple’s current AI-focused initiatives. Cook further disclosed that an AI-enhanced Siri is slated for release next year, underlining Apple’s commitment to broadening its integration efforts.
During a recent earnings call, Cook reiterated Apple’s progress with Siri and hinted at potential AI-related mergers and acquisitions to enhance their technology roadmap. This announcement coincides with the company’s robust financial performance, with record earnings of $102.5 billion in the last quarter, reflecting an eight percent year-over-year growth.
Notably, the iPhone 17 series contributed significantly to Apple’s $49.03 billion in iPhone revenue, with features like the ultra-thin iPhone Air and enhanced iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models. Apple’s strategy of bringing Pro-level features to entry-level devices, including an always-on display with ProMotion support, aims to enhance user experience across its product range.
