The update will introduce a battle pass and a variety of new customization options for players. However, according to the development team, this marks the conclusion of significant content updates for the game.
With the studio currently working on multiple new Halo titles, the team emphasizes the need to focus their collective efforts on creating fresh gaming experiences that will receive the same dedication from the community. While ongoing support for Halo Infinite is assured, Operation: Infinite stands as the last major content update on the current roadmap.
This decision to transition Halo Infinite into a maintenance mode follows the recent announcement of a 2026 multiplatform release for the Halo: Campaign Evolved remake. Despite Halo Infinite’s initial challenges, such as a lackluster gameplay trailer in 2020, the team acknowledges the positive reception to Campaign Evolved, which is slated for release on both PS5 and Xbox platforms next year.
