Roku has launched a new mobile app for Howdy, its ad-free streaming service priced at $2.99 per month. The app, now available on iOS and Android in the U.S., allows subscribers to access Howdy’s extensive library of content on the go. Launched in August 2025, Howdy offers nearly 10,000 hours of content from partners like Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Disney Entertainment, Warner Bros. Discovery, FilmRise, and select Roku Original titles.
The library includes a variety of titles such as ‘A Haunting in Venice,’ ‘Ice Age,’ ‘Weeds,’ ‘Kids in the Hall,’ and a range of genres from rom-coms to medical dramas. Priced competitively in the market, Howdy aims to provide affordable and quality ad-free streaming that complements existing premium services, according to Roku’s President of Subscriptions, Partnerships, and Corporate Development, Gil Fuchsberg.
The release of the new app follows Howdy’s recent expansion to Amazon’s Prime Video platform, marking its first step outside the Roku ecosystem. This move comes after a significant advertising data sharing agreement between Roku and Amazon for connected TVs.
